Senior Agile Java Developer - Information Technology
Boston Capital uses the latest Extreme Programming/Agile methodologies to develop mission-critical applications for its business. We have fostered a collaborative environment with a group of talented individuals who are all passionate about agile and building quality software. We are looking for a bright, analytical thinker to join our team to help build a state of the art asset management application that is being marketed to the real estate financing industry. We are also looking for someone who has played a leadership role in agile development teams and has experience collaboratively defining strategic technical direction of a software product.
As a Senior Agile Developer you will:
- Create complex software solutions
- Use Object Oriented languages – Java/J2EE and Ruby on Rails (Experience with Rails isn't required.)
- Work with highly analytical, experienced agile programmers
- Code in a Test Driven Development, Paired Programming environment
- Constantly learn and implement the latest Agile practices
- Use open source tools including Google Web Toolkit, Apache, Tomcat, FIT, JUnit, Webwork, PicoContainer, Hibernate, Velocity, Subversion and more
- Lead/mentor junior developers
- Interact directly with business users to gather and analyze business requirements
- Be involved in all phases of software development from design to implementation
- Drive design decisions
- Be called upon to help guide and set technical strategy
- Create quality software that truly delivers business value
We are looking for you if you have:
- 5+ years experience with Object Oriented languages (Java/J2EE, Ruby/Rails, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of design patterns, refactoring, and continuous integration
- Knowledge of Agile Methodologies (Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum, other)
- A true passion for coding
- The desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly
- The ability to inspire others to create great code
Other qualifications include:

Investment Analyst - Asset Management
This entry level position will support a team of Asset Managers in managing a portfolio of multi-family real estate partnerships to preserve the value of Investor Equity and the stream of benefits associated with that Investment.
Job responsibilities include:
- Analyzing annual audited financial statements to evaluate operational performance.
- Reviewing site visit reports and following up with General Partners and Management Companies on issues.
- Evaluating requests for the release of equity by reviewing Partnership Agreements and other partnership documents to determine if required benchmarks such as Tax Credit allocation, construction completion, stabilized occupancy, and break-even operations have been met.
- Monitoring construction progress through the review of monthly construction draw requests.
Candidate must have:
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience or internship in a similar work environment a plus
- Real estate experience preferred

Origination Analyst - Origination
The position requires a general knowledge of real estate and extremely excellent communication and written skills. This is a junior position in the department with growth potential.
General responsibilities include:
- Performing sales and marketing calls to developers over a multi-state region to obtain information (deal packages) for review by the Acquisitions department.
- Tracking and reporting in-flow and assisting with deal assignments.
- Using a specially designed database to create monthly and bi-weekly reports.
- Maintain ongoing contact with various state housing finance agencies and extracting LIHTC information from agency websites.
- Learning the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program with in-house training.
Must have a four year degree in business or finance and Windows Office experience with proficient skills in Excel; PowerPoint a plus. The candidate should be a self-starter and be a highly motivated team player, the ability to work with minimum supervision and have sales and marketing skills.

Asset Manager - Asset Management
The Asset Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of multi-family real estate partnerships to preserve the value of Investor Equity and the stream of benefits associated with that Investment; develop and maintain strong relations with lender representatives, management agents, local officials, and general Partners in a portfolio; manage reposition situations which include refinancing, general partner substitution, legal action, partnership restructuring, recapitalization, as well as Section 42 non-compliance issues; conduct site visit evaluations; analyze annual audited financial statements; review and monitor quarterly operational reports and evaluate Partnership performance through pre-established benchmarks.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience in asset management and property financial analysis. Must have a BS / BA degree, excellent analytical skills, be highly organized, and have strong computer, verbal and written skills. Real Estate experience is required.
